On 29 January 2025, Rural Radicals presented Navigating Alternative Finance, the Crowdequity Edition virtual roundtable, which addressed how alternative finance models are shaping the funding of Cultural and Creative Industry (CCI) projects in rural areas.
The event provided insights into crowdequity, a model that enables communities and entrepreneurs to collectively fund property purchases and creative projects. Speakers Joep de Roo, Lars Willemse, Denis Altschul and Ronald Kleverlaan discussed the mechanics of crowdequity, presented a case study from Portugal, and outlined practical steps toward crowdequity and community ownership. Rural Radicals’ Founder Ella Overkleeft moderated the session.
